Paradigm Shift:
–Production Assistants are not Health and Safety (and/or COVID) Assistants.

Production Assistants are task focused and work in and under the Production Department, supporting overall production operations. Their work helps facilitate the needs of each department to help ensure that schedules, the actual work and budgets are within the production plan.

Health and Safety (and/or COVID) Assistants are responsibility focused and work under a Health and Safety Officer (or COVID) Department, supporting health and safety protocols to specifically keep everyone safe from potential infection and/or injury during production. This position assists with executing disinfection and other safety practices during production.

Big difference!! Of course a PA who has been formally trained as a certified Health and Safety (or COVID) Assistant, can successfully work as such, without being a detriment to the production. The Health and Safety Assistants tend to work at a slightly higher pay rate than Production Assistants. Food for thought…
