This intensive course is part of the signature Getting Into the Movies workshop series. The content is regularly updated to accommodate changing technology, project types, production standards, methods, protocols, safety and environmental influences and risks.

Participants have taken this training to enhance current skills on the road to becoming Assistant Directors, Production Coordinators, Producers, Department Heads, Production Managers and ShowRunners, etc.  Others are making career changes. This workshop offers solid grounding for work on a variety of project types (feature films, reality shows, documentaries, commercials, etc.) and is designed to provide, and/or increase, basic skills and knowledge for work as a top-notch Production Assistant.

Why work as a Production Assistant?

  • Production Assistants currently earn a typical rate range of $250 – $275/per 10 or 12 hour day. Some productions pay more, depending on the budget and the work itself, while lower budget productions often pay  less.

  • the gratification that your work contributes to the overall success of the production.

  • your name will often be listed in the ending credits, depending on your deal and the type of project (for example, commercials don’t run credits).

Certificate of completion is provided to all graduates, within 48  hours of course completion.


By registering, you affirm that you have read the description and refund policy.  The course begins with an Assessment followed by an overview/orientation and training on elements for success and ethics  in the industry.


Refund Policy:  No refunds are issued for this class once you access it, unless we cancel it. Any refund will be returned back to the same form of payment and the same name the payment is from. Should you need to miss it, we are happy for you to take it on another day.  Just let us know before the class starts!
